About

Built for the Professionals Who Shape This Industry

PMU Trends was founded on a simple premise: permanent makeup professionals deserve the same quality of industry intelligence that practitioners in medicine, law, and finance take for granted.

Our Mission

We exist to serve one audience: PMU artists and practitioners who want to stay at the forefront of their craft. We cover techniques with the depth of an educator, trends with the rigor of an analyst, and business strategy with the directness of an advisor who's been in the room.

Everything published on PMU Trends is written with the assumption that you already know your way around a machine or a blade. We don't explain what microblading is — we go deep on why certain hairstroke patterns retain differently on oily skin, how to position your pricing when a new competitor enters your market, and which pigment formulas the industry's most-booked artists are actually using.

Editorial Standards

Every article on this site goes through a consistent editorial process. We cite sources. We distinguish between what the data shows and what practitioners believe. Where claims are contested, we say so. We do not accept payment to change the editorial position of any article, and all sponsored content is clearly labeled.

Our product reviews are written by working PMU artists, not marketers. We evaluate equipment on the metrics that matter in a real studio: needle depth consistency across an 8-hour session, how a machine handles different skin textures, whether a numbing cream actually lasts through a touch-up.

Write for PMU Trends

We publish a small number of contributed articles from working PMU professionals each month. If you have genuine expertise, original insight, or practitioner experience that would serve our readership, we'd like to hear from you.

We pay for accepted contributions. Pitches should include a proposed title, a 100-word summary of your angle, and two examples of your previous writing. Send pitches to editorial@pmutrends.com.

PMU Trends reaches a highly targeted audience of permanent makeup professionals — artists, studio owners, educators, and practitioners who make purchasing decisions about equipment, pigments, training, and business services.

We offer newsletter sponsorships, sponsored content partnerships, and directory placement. For a media kit and current rates, contact partnerships@pmutrends.com.
